Description
Summary:The Portuguese immigration to Brazil at the end of the XIXth Century was a consequence of this period's political and economical transition. The contigent "remittance" system was a resource used to satisfy double interests. Under these circunstances, Brazil stuck out as the ideal place for immigration. Brazil being a rich country, in development and having Portuguese traditions, institutions, and language motivated those interested.
