Summary:Although highly diverse, few species of geckos (including the families Gekkonidae, Phylodactylidae and Sphaerodactylidae) have been reported from bromeliad habitats, where the main goal of the present study is to provide preliminary information regarding the biology Hemidactylus agrius in association with  bromeliad (Encholirium spectabile) growing on rock outcrops in the Agreste region, northeastern of Brazil, where the field work was carried out from December 2009 through September 2010 during a survey of the herpetofauna in Santa Maria municipality, during this study we report the occurrence of Hemidactylus agrius in touceiras of Encholirium spectabile, where in one night more than fifteen exemplars were observed, this report represent a great importance of conservation of this species, because this is considered a rare species and this report is a good and new notice for conservation of the H. agrius population in association with bromeliads of the genera Encholirium.
