| Summary: | The present article points out some liturgical implications which proceed from the unity between the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist in the Mass. To better understand this unity, an etymological analysis of certain Hebrew terms in the Masoretic Text is provided. Such an analysis helps us understand the relationship between the two aspects of the one Word of God, as the Word uttered by the Father and as the Word made flesh. A proper awareness of this relationship leads to an enhanced understanding of the Mass in accord with the Church’s teaching about the Eucharist. |
