Summary: | Abstract
Unlike in other majors, students in majors Koumunikasi and Broadcasting
(KPI) and Islamic Guidance Counseling (BKI) not many choose to use a
quantitative approach in research thesis (skripsi). Psychologically, this
can be attributed to psychological factors such as the experience of
learning, self-assessment capability (self-efficacy) and the
meaningfulness of the task (task value). The third variable is closely
linked to the emergence of the motivation for choosing or doing a task or
activity. This study specifically examined the relationship between
mathematics learning experience, self-efficacy and task value statistics in
choosing quantitative approach used by students to their research thesis.
The results showed that only math-related learning experiences with the
intention of students is choosing a quantitative approach.

Abstrak
Tidak seperti di jurusan lain, mahasiswa di jurusan Koumunikasi dan
Penyiaran (KPI) dan Bimbingan Konseling Islam (BKI) tidak banyak
memilih menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dalam penelitian skripsi.
Secara psikologis, hal ini dapat dihubungkan dengan faktor-faktor
psikiologis seperti pengalaman belajar, penilaian kemampuan diri (self
efficacy) dan kebermaknaan tugas (task value). Ketiga variabel tersebut
merupakan variabel yang berhubungan erat dengan munculnya motivasi
untuk memilih atau mengerjakan suatu tugas atau aktivitas. Penelitian ini
secara khusus menguji hubungan pengalaman belajar matematika, self
efficacy dan task value statistik terhadap pemilihan pendekatan kuantitatif
mahasiswa untuk penelitian skripsinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa hanya pengalaman belajar matematika yang berhubungan dengan
intensi mahasiswa yang memilih pendekatan kuantitatif.
