Summary: | This article, based on the professionnal track of its author, is an attempt at retracing the main mutations encountered by the research community in France in the past 15 years, especially within universities. The observations are especially focused on the progressive emergence of a French research relying more and more on a “research by project” (where research funding allocation is directly correlated to the obtentions of grants). This new type of research has lead to the development and affirmation of a new type of positions within the academic world : such as “European projects Managers” or “Research office specialized in European research programmes”. Finally, this article is trying to shed some light, through the specific case of one of the three Toulouse universities, on the actions that a university can undertake within its internal organisation, in order to face the new constraints imposed by the environment. |
