To what extent is their decision to drop out associated with a present time orientation as some studies have already showed? Has their time orientation (present or future) changed over five years? The objective of the article is to present the results of a qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews on the vocational integration and the time orientation among Quebec secondary school leavers. We will first define our theoretical perspectives on the vocational integration and the time orientation. Then we will describe the four types of youth we have constructed from the point of view of their vocational integration, and the results on their relationship with time. Finally, we will examine whether the four types of youth have different time orientation.http://journals.openedition.org/sociologies/212school-to-work transitionattitude towards timeyoung peopleschoolinginterruption of studies
