This article studies a single “sex-less” case by drawing on etnomethodology, cultural anthropology and historical resources in order to challenge the pathologisation of this phenomenon.<br>El Instituto Nacional de Sexología japonés acuña una nueva categoría para definir a aquellas personas que no alcanzan una determinada prevalencia de relaciones sexuales mensuales. Mediante recursos propios de las ciencia sociales (etnometodología y antropología cultural) se estudia un caso concreto de "sin-sexo" para tratar de superar su definición como trastorno mental.
