Description
Summary:This article reflects on some aspects analyzed in a master's dissertation that examined a program of regional development, implanted in the Serrana Region of Santa Catarina (Brazil). The expectation of this study is to contribute to the understanding of the factors that appear relevant to the process of construction of the sustainable development of a region. The principally theoretical reference is the Ignacy Sachs's work about eco-development. The study of this program is relevant because it had been implanted in a experimental form, serving as base for other programs of regional development in Brazil. The reached results had been evaluated in order to understand political, managerial and methodologic factors. In addition to the secondary analysis, quantitative and qualitative indicators had been chosen and adapted; interviews with technicians, coordinators and participants in the implantation process of the program had been made. The conclusion presents some lessons that can contribute with similar programs of development.
