The present discussion points out issuesregarding patients’ selection/election as well as reasoning/rationing of therapeutic and diagnostic measures grounded by the ethicalbackground of beneficence, non-maleficence, justice and respect for autonomy. These ethical principles were pondered and specified bythe ethics of care.
