Summary: | The origin of a field-insensitive heavy-fermion state observed in Sm compounds is studied by an effective two-orbital Anderson model for 4f states in Sm ions. It is shown that the fermi-liquid state with an enhanced specific-heat coefficient and a vanishingly small Wilson ratio is realized in the vicinity of a quantum critical point and accounts well for the unconventional heavy-fermion phenomenon. |
