Description
Summary:Based on the example of the Musée de la Céramique Adrien Dubouché de Limoges and its collection, the present article attempts to retrace the different meanings attributed to Far Eastern works during their musealisations. To do so, it recontextualises the setting of the collections : from the general trend of industrial museums, which includes the founding of the Limoges museum, to the museography implemented inside the museum, via the history of the collections. During this process, the Far Eastern artworks were sometimes envisaged as models, sometimes as objects of knowledge.
