Summary:This work intends to present part of the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora Liberal Arts Contos de Mitologia group practice with students of the fifth elementary grade. The objective is to promote Classical Culture to the basic educational segments and to improve academic and didactic qualification of the fellows. For this purpose, didactic sequences were developed based on the myths from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. The study disseminates myth storytelling and provides space for oral genres practices associated with written ones inside the school.
