Summary:The paper considers an issue of object registration in the image through the generalized Hough transform with uncompensated geometric distortions being available. It proposes the method of geometric distortion correction and the method of parameter space normalization. The paper shows that the proposed algorithms require a relatively small amount of computations, but significantly improve the reliability of object detection. The paper may be of interest to professionals working in the field of pattern recognition as well as to graduate and undergraduate students attending lectures on the pattern recognition.
