Summary:The article represents the main problems of diagnosis and treatment of patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). It is noted that C. albicans causes candidiasis in 75-80% of cases. Clinical forms of VVC include acute VVC and chronic (recurrent) vulvovaginal candidiasis (HRVVC). The main diagnostic approaches in the treatment and prevention of disease recurrence are described. The article presents data on the use of Clotrimazole vaginal cream 2% (Esparma) to treat VVC.
