Description
Summary:The work aims to discuss the psychoanalytic treatment of children previously at risk. Living with a "social family", the project was set up around twenty years ago in Rio de Janeiro city, having already reinstated more than 1,800 young people. Taking as reference Winnicott's theory we discuss the family role in the constitution of the subject and its implications in the development of violent or anti-social behavior. We present some peculiarities of consultations conducted outside the traditional setting of the "private" office, in an institution marked by very specific characteristics: open doors and parents who created their biological children together with highly traumatized children. We finally discuss how those children, who lived on the streets, were drug dealers, have suffered family violence, abandonment, sexual abuse, somehow find resources to continue and find new meanings for their lives.
