Description
Summary:In this article, I seek to develop a contribution to the discussion that revolves around the concept of (in) security. To do this, I try to reconstruct the thought of Emile Durkheim. At present, the concept of (in) security is an axis of debate in itself, as well as the multiple terms associated with it. That is why it is necessary to return to the classical authors. Thus, I propose to analyze the conceptual elaboration of Emile Durkheim through the works: The division of social work, The rules of the sociological method, Suicide, The moral education and the articles appeared in the magazine L'anne sociologique. From here, it is interesting to analyze its evolution, understanding that the term acquires greater relevance throughout the construction of his thought. From the above, I seek to expose a primary sociological approach to (in) security, trying to make a substantive contribution to sociological theory and the debate around it.
