Description
Summary:In this paper, I will follow the footsteps of feminist debate on equality and difference in its intersection with law. The principle of equality before the law has been in conflict with the need for acknowledgement of diversity of women’s conditions in regards of achieving that principle. Furthermore, differences in the lives of women are multiple and diverse. In order to make a thorough investigation on this dilemma, I will revise the main legal feminist perspectives, and examine the lines of opinion within the field through which the relationship between feminisms and law are defined and problematized. Towards the end I shall address the problem from the perspective of what has come to be known as deconstructivist feminism or post-feminism as a means of assessing the importance of the division between equality and difference within the field in question.
