Description
Summary:Comparison of two Committees for diadromous-fish management on the Garonne and Seine rivers raises questions on the different types of biodiversity management. What are the strong points, the weak points? What lessons may be drawn for collaborative biodiversity management?<br> By comparing the diadromous fish management committees (COGEPOMI) of the Garonne and Seine river basins, we were able to look at how the biodiversity of migratory species is managed. Focused on fisheries management, the COGEPOMI committees seem reluctant to widen the environmental theme to include migration and thus move away from a simple fisher/fish relationship. This tension is also reflected in the circulation of knowledge for the development of management intended to be sustainable and thus dependent on local socio-natural dynamics.
