Summary:The quality of water flows through the taps for drinking is gaining attention from public. There are still bacteria and minerals that exist in the tap water that can damage human’s health. Hence, the objective of this work is to develop a personal, portable dual purposes handy water filter to provide an easier way to get safe, clean and healthy drinking water for human wherever they go. The designed system can be used in filtering water taken from public drinking fountains or other public water sources. The work is started by conducting a preliminary research. First, the constraints and criteria of the problem are identified and discussed in detail. Analysis of the mechanism performance is conducted as inputs for calculation, modelling, testing and other designing methods. Finally, several possible solutions of the problems are generated.
