Karin Bohr focuses on the practical dealing with the history of our region. The work „Entstehung des Denkmalschutz- und pflegegesetzes in Rheinland-Pfalz“ features an account of the history of the protection of historical monuments dating back to the end of the 19th century. In the course of time, the resident population increasingly supported the enforcement of these laws themselves. The bill concerning the protection of monuments of 1978 can be seen as a milestone in the history of monument protection in Rhineland-Palatinate. It regulated the protection of cultural values in detail and gave the protection of historical monuments an important role in daily life and politics, which it maintains until the present day.
