Summary:The natural zeolite of clinoptilolite type from the domestic deposit at Nižný Hrabovec, as a natural, inert and non toxic material, has a wide possibility of application. The structure of natural clinoptilolite is ideal for sorption and ion exchange processes. Due to its structure and properties, the zeolite may be used as a slowly - releasing carrier of agrochemicals of various kinds, as well as fertilizers and other pharmaceutically and biochemically active compounds including disinfectants. Our study was aimed at dynamics of nutrient release from the zeolitic fertilizer ZEOMIX NPK produced on basis natural zeolite of the clinoptilolite type. It confirmed more gradual release of nutrients from the zeolitic fertilizer in compare with standard NPK fertilizer. The zeolitic fertilizer had favourable effects on the quantity and quality of the harvest of crops treated.
