Summary: | In this study, it was aimed to investigate the view of science teachers about effect of the FATİH Project and smart boards on teachers and student. This study is a case study, which is one of the qualitative research design, semi-structured interview form consisting of six questions was used as the data collection tool of the research. The study group of the research consisted of 25 science teachers who were in secondary schools in the province of South-eastern Turkey in the 2017-2018 academic year. The interview data was analyzed by content analysis, which is one of the qualitative data analysis types. According to the findings, it has been determined that teachers had many positive and negative views regarding both the FATİH Project and the use of the smart boards. The positive effects on the teachers, such as easier access to information, preventing loss of time, facilitating the inclusion in the lesson can be counted. The negative effects such as the problems experienced by the teachers regarding internet and technical problems, incorrect information in some contents and difficulties of control of crowded classrooms, were stated by teachers. The positive aspects of the students were stated as providing motivation against the lesson, facilitating the concrete of abstract information, providing visual richness, enabling students to be active in interactive learning. The disadvantages are problems experienced by the students regarding internet and technical problems, the presence of incorrect information in some contents, and negativities related to control of the crowded classrooms. In the findings related to the use of smart board, it was determined that it was mostly used for video viewing, use in activities and problem solving, benefiting from lecture or experiments that dangerous and could not make in the application are achieved on smart board. In addition, it has been determined that teachers with less seniority use more of the smart board.
