Description
Summary:The aim of the study was to find out the factors affecting student drop-out at the Teachers College in Riyadh. To achieve this aim, a questionnaire was developed. Forty-three items were included to cover factors expected to influence student drop-out. Proper ways of calculating the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were used. The questionnaire was then administered to a representative sample of full-time and part-time students taken from those drop-outs, (N = 189). The statistical analysis of the data has shown the following results. Factors that seemed to have affected student drop-out were educational, social, psychological, economical, and environmental. Also significant relationships and differences were noticed between some demographic variables and factors influencing drop-outs. In the light of these findings, the researchers made some recommendations and suggestions.
