Summary:The role of vitamin C and vitamin E in the prevention and treatment of diseases is analyzed from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine. The high provision of a patient with the vitamins has a therapeutic and preventive impact on the development and course of a number of diseases. Furthermore, when additionally prescribing the vitamins as part of combination therapy, it is necessary to take into account possible drug interactions, including those due to the inducing effect of the above antioxidants on cytochrome P450 3A4.
