Summary:Nowadays, no one can deny the dramatic influence rapping has on young people. It has evolved over time adopting its own norms, values and language. The article deals with the analysis of the peculiarities of rap language as compared to poetry. The authors highlight the similarities existing between the two and suggest using rap at the lesson of French to develop the linguistic, communicative and cultural competences. They argue that rapping would enhance the process of learning making it more agreeable.
