The histopathological examination revealed spongiosis, vacuolar alteration of the basal layer and lymphocytic exocytosis with a mild-to-moderate perivascular mononuclear infiltrate in the dermis. Lichen striatus was diagnosed based upon the characteristic clinical and histopathological findings.
