Summary:Despite the terminological invasion of British English and American English which is also strongly felt in the Romanian library science language, and the global computer literacy process of the last two decades, the main lexical stock in this field continues to remain mostly of French origin. It is a basic library terminology, borrowed especially in the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, when the Romanian library science terminology is basically constituted.
