Summary:The present study aims to analyse and highlight the aspects that led to the city of Montreal, Canada, receiving the title of creative city of Design by Unesco World Network in 2006. Thus, the characterization of Montreal and a Survey to validate the obtained characteristics from the perception of the tourists were done. The results showed that the activities developed in Montreal contributed to achieve the title of creative city of Design and the same is noticeable to tourists who visit the city.
