<p>ENGLISH ABSTRACT: AMIR and SPAR are Monte Carlo based computer software for the reliability, availability and logistic support analysis of complex systems. They provide the infrastructure for the effective analysis of such systems, without resorting to simplifying assumptions which would render the analysis irrelevant. Both programs use the reliability configuration of the system under analysis as basis for the analysis.</p><p>AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: AMIR en SPAR is Monte Carlo-gebaseerde rekenaarprogrammatuur waarmee betekenisvolle analise ten opsigte van die betroubaarheid, beskikbaarheid en logistieke steunbaarheid van komplekse stelsels uitgevoer kan word. Dit verskaf die infrastruktuur om ingewikkelde probleme effektief te analiseer, sonder dat die analise as gevolg van vereenvoudigende aannames, irrelevant raak. Beide programme gebruik die betroubaarheidskonfigurasie van die stelsel wat ontleed word, as basis vir die analise wat gedoen word.</p>
