Description
Summary:This research investigates the hunting Hadith narrated by ‘Udayy Ibn-Hatim. It inVol.ves tracking its paths, comparing and evaluating its words and versions, explaining unfamiliar words and pointing out inferred rulings. The research aims at identifying the versions of that particular Hadith and jurisprudential implications for the benefit of readers. The research follows an analytical inductive approach. The research findings include the following: 1- ‘Udayy’s narrative is particularly significant with respect to the issue of hunting, being the most comprehensive and pivotal hunting Hadith . 2- Interested scholars give it special importance. 3- It is rated as “sahih” 4- It includes several jurisprudential issues. 5- It shows the significance of surveying and comparing scholars’ related views, and this represents the Hadith specialists’ critical approach, which guarantees sound evaluation of narrators. The research makes the following recommendations: it is important to bring together the paths of Hadith, to draw the chain narrators and hold a related comparison, as the proper approach to the truth; proper attention should be given to the jurisprudence of Prophetic texts and to formulating judgments on their basis; and people should be reminded of hunting-related rulings, especially those concerned with hunting.
