Description
Summary:The aim of this paper is to present the survey and assessment of the different poetic forms found in the document Orfeu Brasílico (1736) and a brief study of their use. The work also aims to discuss about the philological work, since this is the method used for the restoration and exegesis of the work. Classical Poetics is used for the analysis of the poetic forms, which is, admittedly, the orientation of the time of writing. The analyzed corpus is the result of poetic compositions prepared by students of the College of Bahia of the Society of Jesus in 1736 in honor to Priest José de Anchieta. The search is made from a fac-simile edition from 1998, commemorating the 450th anniversary of the arrival of Anchieta in Coimbra. This study, together with other studies of the Research Project A philological approach of the document Orfeu Brasílico (1736), will contribute to the literary documentary appreciation of the studied work.
