Summary: | Bamboo has a lot of uses, often used for various needs, such as for building houses,
furniture, agricultural tools, crafts, musical instruments, and food. Bamboo is a renewable
natural resource so that bamboo cultivation is very important to fulfill the various needs of
the community. Potential of bamboo cultivation is actually quite large in South east Sulawesi
because of many types and spreads of bamboo in Southeast Sulawesi which can be a
breeding source. Thus the identification of bamboo as a breeding source and location of
spread were very important. Results showed that there were 13 bamboo types as a source of
breeding, namely Gigantochloa apus, Bambusa arundinacea wild, Bambusa blumeana,
Dendrocalamusasper Schult. F. Backer, Bambusaatralindl, Bambusa vulgaris vittata,
Melocanabac cifera, Asparagus cochinchinensis, Bambusa multiplex, Bambusa vulgaris,
Dinochloa malayana, Gigantochloa atter, Schizostachyum mosum. Type of bamboo as the
breeding source of the most spread in Southeast Sulawesi was Gigantochloa apus type and
least was Dinochloa malayana type which was only spread in East Kolaka District and type
of Schizostachyum mosum, Gigantochloa atter, which was only spread in Muna Distric |
