Ovim radom dat je osvrt na značaj i ulogu GIS-a za potrebe uspostave i održavanja jedinstvene evidencije i registra prostornih jedinica (JERPJ-a). U radu su opisani osnovni GIS alati neophodni za realizaciju zadataka prilikom prikupljanja i obrade prostornih podataka. U radu se također nastojala prikazati uloga geodete (kartografa) u procesu uvođenja i vođenja JERPJ-a. : This work gives an overview on importance and the role of the GIS for the needs of setting up and maintenance of the Single Register of Sapital Units. The article describes the main GIS tools needed for implementation of the tasks during collection and processing of spatial data. Also, the article demonstrates the role and importance of geodesisit (cartographer) in the process of introduction and management of the Single Register of Spatial Units.
