Summary: | The prevalence of stroke, and its associated costs, are going to rise with the aging population and changes in lifestyle in developing countries. Further research should better identify modifiable and non-modifiable determinants of poor outcomes in stroke survivors. Complex rehabilitation of post-stroke survivors still needs novel solutions. An eclectic/mixed approach to intervention, regarded as synthesis of the classical intervention methods, techniques, and tools, may be regarded as one of them, but it still needs more research. The aim of the article is to familiarise the aforementioned approach based on the presented case report and to investigate the extent to which available opportunities of an eclectic/mixed approach to physiotherapy is being exploited. |
