Summary:Liberation theology - one of the areas of theological thought in the second half of XX-be- ginning of XXI century - is characterized by a critical attitude to the social problems of our time: poverty, inequality of economic development, financial dependence of Third world countries on international credit agencies. The article analyzes the views of a number of iconic representatives of the liberation theology of a desired social structure and the influence of their views on rhetoric and political practice of the leaders of Latin America.
