Summary: | Trafficking is one of the many forms of violence against women. Although other victims may also be victims of trafficking in human beings, women are most often victims. Trafficking in human beings is the most profitable business, immediately behind drug trafficking. The dark figure in this type of crime is very high, and trafficking in human beings is not a problem for a country, but for the entire international community. For this reason, at the United Nations level, a number of Conventions have been adopted aimed at preventing and combating trafficking in human beings. Factors that lead to trafficking in women are different, ranging from poverty, corruption, domestic violence, sexual violence, hopes for a better life. This paper will provide an analysis of the most important international documents adopted in this field, as well as an overview of the phases through which trafficking in persons passes and factors that contribute or can contribute to trafficking in human beings. |
