Summary:Through a review of the respective literature, a theoretical approximation of the doctrine on human rights is carried out, which shelters controversies of varied nuances, alluding to its conceptualization, and as well to the terminology suitable for its reference, to its rationale and to its classification. For this purpose, consideration is given to its conceptualization and terminologies, connecting them. In continuation, the characteristic elements of human rights are identified. The various species of human rights continue to be studied, and this is done through the analysis of related historical events. Finally, as a conclusion, some considerations are made about the subject under study, its current evolutionary condition and related perspectives.
