Summary: | This study aims to investigate the relationship between Gianfranco Baruchello and Gruppo 63. The focus will be on the interdisciplinary theoretical debate that took place in the Italian Neo-Avantgarde (from 1960s to 1970s). In this essay I will critically examine the correlation between Baruchello’s works and literature. First, I will investigate several collaborations with Nanni Balestrini and Edoardo Sanguineti – such as T.A.T. (1968), Inchiesta (1975) and Dix villes (1978). Secondly, I will focus on the problem of writing itself – on the one hand, by analyzing words, phrases and slogans that Baruchello transfers from books to paintings, on the other hand by focusing on ‘poems’ and narrative texts, like Navigazione in solitario (1976) and Sentito vivere (1978).
