This article reviews the changes in gastrointestinal structure, gastrointestinal dysfunction, and altered neurohumoral regulation caused by cirrhotic portal hypertension, as well as the gastrointestinal clinical manifestations caused by such changes. It is pointed out that the research on the changes in gastrointestinal structure in cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension helps to effectively prevent and treat the complications of liver cirrhosis and improve gastrointestinal symptoms. In addition, the regulation of gastrointestinal function can improve patients′ symptoms and delay the progression of liver cirrhosis. Therefore, it is recommended to regularly evaluate the changes in gastrointestinal mucosa and vessels in patients with liver cirrhosis, in order to provide early treatment and reduce complications. http://www.lcgdbzz.org/qk_content.asp?id=8021
