Description
Summary:Abstract This study aimed to analyze the content covered by the main undergraduate degrees in Production Engineering offered by public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the State of Rio de Janeiro and its alignment with the content covered in public exams for Production Engineer posts. Three dimensions were counterposed, namely: the undergraduates interested in public exams; companies that address exam contents to select a professional with knowledge of these contents, and the HEIs, which structure the relevant undergraduate curriculum. It was observed that there was a higher incidence of economic engineering questions in public exams, the area being one among the three with more subjects offered by HEIs and the second of greatest interest to the undergraduates surveyed. It was concluded that the areas of Product Engineering, Labor Engineering, Logistics, and Sustainability Engineering are neglected in the curricula of analyzed courses, suggesting that some institutions are not accompanying the evolution of society.
