If the object of research is reality, the director’s memory is the medium through which his look analyzes. Here memory is considered as a field that is able to evoke the consciousness of world and life. According to Erice, the ritualization of time and space represents the essence of the creative process of a reflexive discourse through the work on images and sounds. Hence, to ritualize means thinking through memory to search for a true comprehension of the past and consequently of the present.
