The aim of this paper is to show the advantages of the notion of political identity, based on the hegemony theory, to understand the recent Bolivian political process. Our propose gives important keys to analyze the articulations of the MAS-IPSP as an electoral alternative and as an experience of collective action related with the “cocalero” movement.
