Thus, even more ‘traditional’ writers began to venture into this genre. However, when it comes to dystopia, Italian authors – apart from a few important exceptions – systematically tend to hybridize it with fantastic, grotesque and comedy elements. In particular, love themes seem to be the constant in these hybridizations.
