Description
Summary:The aim of this study is to provide further analysis to a key subject of Pascal Quignard’s poetic: that of the secret. Aware of the etymology of the term secretum, the author establishes a dialectic between two acts, se-cernere and ex-cernere. This dialectic will be analysed bearing in mind a well-known Heraclitan fragmento questioning the possibility of passing down the secret and to show how Quignard’s writing is able to both explore and increase its secret, in an uninterrupted counterbalance between true and false, creative process and betrayal, desire and the dream experience. It will be considered how the act of scotomization, displayed along Quignard’s pages, is related to the paths of voice and gaze, that help building the exchange between the veiling and the unveiling processes.
