Summary: | This study indicates the importance of the training programs for school principals as related to the improvement of educational administration and to the job they practice and the problems they face in the schools. It is intended to shed some light about the role of educational administration in improvement of education in general.
This study is also intended to examine the courses offered in the training programs for elementary and intermediate school principals and to compare these courses as related to the total courses offered in the program.
This theoretical study has pointed out the following:
1. Although training programs are designed for school administrators, the administration courses in the programs are less than required.
2. These programs tend to be more academic in nature than for upgrading school principals.
3. The trainees spend more time in the program to meet the requirements of the courses than to spend the time in discussion and to look for the problems they face in their schools,
According to this limited study, the role of the training programs for elementary and intermediate school principals in improving educational administration is limited and this can be improved by establishing a new plan for these programs. |
