For the study, questionnaires were applied to fishermen located in the Port of Cubatão and surroundings. The questionnaire was structured in order to raise the angler identification data such as age and years of work in the fishing, fishing activities (fishing location, length of vessel, type of fishing equipment used), quantity, size, species caught, species presence with roe and accompanying fauna captured. At the end of the questionnaires was obtained a total of 28 respondents, over two starts in the month of July 2015. Data were tabulated in Microsoft ® Excel 2003 software. The species most frequently cited were Hake (24.53%) and Corvina (20.75%), and those most difficult to find were: Dogfish (32.35%) and shrimp (14.70%). The trash was quoted in 96.43% of the responses. Approximately 46.43% of respondents said capturing individuals of all sizes (calf, juvenile and adult). Regarding the accompanying fauna, cited as: jellyfish, seahorse, various mollusks, turtles, dolphin, starfish, sponge, penguin and birds. Therefore, it is concluded that the complex of islands, still preserving the richness of the fish fauna. However, some species such as Dogfish, Carcharhinus plumbeus, Shrimp, Penaeus sp. and Boto, Eurytium limosum; present evidence for the decrease in abundance in this ecosystem.http://periodicos.ifal.edu.br/diversitas_journal/article/view/497Diagnosisartisanal fisheriesbiodiversity
