Summary: | The average power is one of the key parameters of piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). In this paper, we demonstrate that the PENG’s output can be gigantically improved by choosing driving force with an appropriate shape. When the load resistance is 100 MΩ and the driven forces have a magnitude of 19.6 nN, frequency of 10 Hz, the average power of PENG driven by square shaped force is six orders of magnitude higher than that driven by triangular shaped and sinusoidal shaped forces. These results are of importance for optimizing the average power of the PENGs in practical applications. |
