In this context,with the key role of Brazil oncurrent international conjuncture, we developed a bibliographic review inorder to understand the advantagesof political intentions in promotingthese events based on PierreBourdieu’s sociological theory.As main results, we highlight thatmega-events are being promotedwith social and symbolic intentionsbased on past well-succeed experiencesof creating and/or promotinga global city/country images.
