The comedy of life: In between sense and absence of mystery

Within the framework of the questions about the possibilities of human development and the meaning of human life, this work proposes a reading, in a “comical” tone, of some texts about art of the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben in which he offers ways to think about human life further or nearer than the trappings in the devices that deprive it of its forms. In first place, the premises of his diagnostic about the functioning of power in the west, fundamentally the concepts of “naked life” and “lifestyle” are reviewed. In second place, the concept of “person” and his/her relation with art, ethics, and politics is studied. In third place, the Agambenian concept of parody as the absence of mystery is discussed. And, finally, the idea of a comedy of life parting from the recent work about the figure of Pulcinella is discussed.
