Summary:Background: Special sports titles were an important phenomenon linked with ancient sport, Olympia and warfare. Titles were also a reflection of Greek thought, which was the primary effort to excel. Objective: The objective of the study is to present the most famous Greek athletes and sports, especially Olympic titles <i>gymnos agon;</i> then determine the relationship <i>aristeion/aristeia</i> to the ancient Greek sport. Methods: The source for the article was to study the source and specialist literature, criticism, interpretation and synthesis of the results. Results: In this work we wrote about titles of ancient Greek, that was granted to the best <i>athletai</i> in <i>gymnos agon</i> and their the most famous winners. The accompanying tables have these titles included into a specific framework. The ancient <i>athletai,</i> who we mentioned here, were mostly of the greatest sportsman and many of them also excellent soldiers. Conclusions: Special sports titles awarded to the best athletes at the Panhellenic games played an important role in the promotion of their own and their native state and forms of government, and increased quality and uniqueness of the best athletes. Precursor classic sport titles can be found in the Greek warfare.
